“Gosu” (고수) is a Korean word which literally translates as “High Hand”. It can be used to refer to someone who is an “Expert” or a “Professional”. When esports really began to define itself in South Korea following the release of Starcraft: Brood War in 1998, “Gosu” started to be used to describe players who were “Skillful” or “Awesome”.
ToBeGosu, was created with the notion that anyone can be “Gosu”, in every sense of the word, in whatever they want to do. I believe that be seeking to improve ourselves through competition, and by constantly challenges ourselves while pursuing our passions, this can be achieved.
For me, trying to be “Gosu” is about more than being good at video games. Its about being a better person, one who constantly strives for perfection, not at the expense of others, but in collaboration with them. Together, I believe, we can all become Gosu, we just have to keep trying.
